1: HJ209 Wire’s History
Sandvik once established production line in China in 1980s and abandoned it later. Basing on this production line and over 20 years’ research, we developed HJ209 wire and HJ407 wire as substitute of Kanthal A1 Wire and Kanthal APM Wire. They are produced with the same scientific principle–powder metallurgy technology.

The HJ209 wire was developed as substitute of Kanthal A1 Wire, its properties are equivalent to Kanthal A1, but its price is only about $22/kg~$38/kg (Final price depends on product size and ordering quantity).

Our customers have been using HJ209 Wire as Kanthal A1 Wire substitute for over 8 years. The Long-term practice proved that HJ209 Wire is a perfect substitution for kanthal A1 Wire. Compared with conventional Fecral alloy products, HJ209’s purity is further improved and the oxidation resistance is further optimized. Thanks to the special rare earth element combination and unique metallurgical manufacturing process, this material’s performance has been recognized by domestic and foreign customers in field of high temperature ceramic sintering, diffusion furnace, high power density and high temperature industrial furnaces.

Test Method:
HJ209 Wire: sample diameter: 0.8mm, test temperature: 1400℃, 2 minutes intermittent power supply, 6 samples tested.
Kanthal A1 Wire: sample diameter: 0.8mm, test temperature: 1350℃, 2 minutes intermittent power supply, 6 samples tested.
Test Result Explanation:
1: Serving life: HJ209 wire’s serving life is 16 hours longer than Kanthal A1 wire even when HJ209’s test temperature is 50℃ higher than Kanthal A1 Wire.
2: Strength at High Temperature: HJ209’s sagging rate after rupture is only half of Kanthal A1 wire’s. It means HJ209 wire’s strength is higher than Kanthal A1 wire at high temperature.
